Dear Mr. Wolfman,
I am writing to express my interest in a transfer to the London head office for a six-month internship starting this winter.
To begin with, the foremost reason for wanting this transfer is that I believe it will help my own professional growth. I have worked in my current position for 10 years and, while I would be happy to continue supporting the company in my current role, I am also seeking a new challenge.
I have already begun to make plans for how my current role will be filled during the time I would be absent. My trusted colleague Mihyun is more than able to fulfill my professional duties to the required standard. Moreover, she is able to contact me any hour of the day if she ever needs assistance.
To conclude, I would like to kindly ask for your assistance in facilitating the transfer. At your earliest convenience, a recommendation letter to the head office would be greatly appreciated.
